RxShelf runs on a monthly subscription paid through Paystack. The subscription belongs to the pharmacy owner — staff inherit access from their owner's subscription. Only the owner sees the Billing tab.
Open Billing
Sidebar: Settings → Billing. Owner-only. You'll see:
- Current plan — name, price, next billing date.
- Change plan — upgrade or downgrade.
- Cancel subscription.
- Billing history — every invoice and event.
The three plans
| Plan | Pharmacies | Products | Monthly |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | 1 | 500 | ₦5,000 |
| Growth | 1 | 2,000 | ₦10,000 |
| Business | 3 | Unlimited | ₦15,000 |
Every plan comes with the 14-day free trial for new signups. During the trial, no card is required; you have full access up to the plan's limits.
Change your plan
- Click Change plan.
- Pick the plan you want.
- Confirm.
Paystack handles the proration.
- Upgrading — the new plan's features unlock right away. Paystack charges the prorated difference on your next cycle.
- Downgrading — the new plan takes effect. If your current product count is over the new plan's product limit, the downgrade succeeds but you can't add new products until you're back under the limit.
Cancel your subscription
- Click Cancel subscription.
- Confirm.
Cancelling does NOT revoke your access immediately. Your pharmacy stays fully usable until the end of your current paid period — you're just telling Paystack not to charge you again. On the last paid day, access flips to expired.
What "expired" means
When your subscription expires (period ends with no active charge, or after prolonged payment failures), the whole app redirects to a subscription expired notice — writes are blocked, reports are blocked, staff can't sign in usefully. Your data stays intact.
To restore access, log in as the owner and re-subscribe from that notice screen — Settings and the rest of the app aren't reachable until you do.
What "past due" means
If a payment fails, Paystack retries — during this grace period your subscription status is past_due, and RxShelf keeps you working normally (you'll get an email from Paystack). Your access continues so a temporary card issue doesn't lock you out of your pharmacy. Once Paystack marks the subscription failed for good, it moves to cancelled/expired.
Billing history and invoices
Every charge, plan change, and status event is logged in Billing history. Paystack sends the receipt to your email; the same events are recorded here so you can reconcile without opening your inbox.
Trial expiry
Your trial ends on trial_ends_at — 14 days from signup. To keep access:
- Go to Settings → Billing (or the trial banner at the top of the app).
- Click Subscribe (or Change plan if you started on one you don't want to stay on).
- Complete Paystack checkout.
If the trial ends without a subscription, your account moves to expired — same behaviour as any other expiry.
